Description
Well Control concepts have been developed mainly for drilling operations over the course of many years. They have resulted in a increased number of well control schools, where these techniques are taught to E&P and Service Companies key personnel.
However, often times, only conventional models are being applied to well control during completion and workover operations, which is sometimes incorrect. As workover and completions are usually conducted with clear fluids (brines), application of methods designed for and used in drilling may result in dangerous situations.
