In this section we’ll get into the process of how careers are managed and how it leads eventually to an understanding of how far you might climb I believe that Career Development is a series of cycles the effect of completing each cycle is to increase your level of capability and increase your ability to contribute to the organization it all starts with an opportunity people observe your work process you work hard to perform well you may need some coaching if the results are good you have success and Trust builds the more Trust the more responsibility and the more widely you become known chances are you’ll also establish some broader relationships that will yield new opportunities it’s useful to look at the elements in groups the first group involves watching you work the second is around your skills and how you solve problems and the third is around how you’re helped the fourth is about what good results yield in the short-term and the last is about implications further on
